I had orders twice for Nam, but there were only 2 bases my security clearance allowed, Tan Son Nhut and Danang and they never gave me orders to those bases, instead twice I got orders as ground based Forward Air Controller to Khe Sanh but my security clearance forbid it because of my work on the cold war operational war plans with B52s. What was strange was I was allowed to fly as volunteer on B52s out of Okinawa on bombing missions to SE Asia to compare my radar drawings to actual radar screen.

Flying on the B52s was cool.
