Whites coinmaster 5500D series 3 and salt water beach

Can?t seem to get this unit to work on south padre island. Cant balance and indicates a find wherever I try.
Is this machine compatible with salty sand?
Works fine on normal soil and grassy areas.

They're pretty much worthless in wet salt water areas. Dry sand, no problem. Wet sand and water, it'll just squawk.
