Just wondering what might cause a gain overload at lower than recommended default startup setting and if there is anyway to test a coil (e.g. pin-outs) using a multimeter to see if a bad coil could be the problem. Other than using another (different) coil, I am at a loss as to haw to check if it is a detector or coil fault that may be the cause. Anything over '3' and it's pretty much unusable. Auto balance appeared to just sit on 50 and not budge for this particular coil.
