Hi all, have been reading about the new VX3 from Whites.
Since it is a V3i without all the advanced features, will all the coils without the V-rating work on it without any problems?
I am thinking about trading in my DFX on one and would like to know if my coils will work to there full performance on the VX3?
Thanks, Greg

im gonna say yeah
most loops for DFX, are listed with the V3i for what i have seen and the VX3 somewhere in the middle

I think they will need to be V rated coils to get the most out of them, but just like the V3i they will still work you just won't be able to run them as hot as the V rated coils. Some non V rated coils I hear will run at the high setting but not very many at all, you will need to be very lucky.

It depends on how old your DFX is. If it is more than 18 months old, you will have problems with the coil in 3 frequency modes, but they will work fine in 2.5 and in 7.5 KHz. You can tell by looking at the serial number on the coil. SN on "V" rated coils will begin with the letter "v".

I guess you don't like the fuss of the V3i?

No and the DD coil is awful for pinpointing

It takes a bit of getting used to, but with a little practice...
