Could they be from Berea, Ky? I have been there a few times and they always have some kind of arts festival going on.

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

The colourful print is not ‘from Berea’. The signature is for the Romanian artist Dimitrie Berea (1908-1975). He originally produced this work for a poster to promote an art exhibition held on 30th September 1960 at the Galerie De Cannes in Cannes, France. It was later widely reproduced as prints (both lithographs and serigraphs) with the title “Flowers on the Veranda”, especially during the 1970s.

The other work looks to be an aquatinted etching. The work is attributed to both the Belgian artist Roger Hebbelinck (1912-1987) and the Swiss artist Ernst Linck (1874-1935). As I understand it, Hebbelinck produced the original painting and Linck produced the engraving from it for printing. Yours seems to be signed ‘Linck’ in pencil, but not from a limited edition run.

It’s simply titled “Lieje (Liège)” and depicts the “Perron de Liège”, a fountain staircase monument which is a symbol of that Belgian city.
