Why are some 800s upper rod Glossy black and mine is Matte Blk

Come to think of it, I don't know which mine is. Does it matter?
 
I doubt it matters. Just curious if one is like older vs newer type thing.
 
I have no idea. Mine was matte black.
 
Are you sure it’s a stock shaft?
 
Yeah deff stock shaft/rod. My buddy which got his prob a year before I got mine is glossy black. Mine is Matte.
 
I've had 2 with the matte black, my new one is gloss and so is my hunting partner's.
 
Interesting Dan, I've always just wondered the reasoning. Maybe Minelab will see this and answer, Or I'll email them.
 
When did you get your 800? My guess would be that one is the newer shaft which was supposed to fix the wobble problem. :dontknow:
