"Why are you screaming"

That was the question my wife asked me from the other room on Saturday night while I was opening up some customer-wrapped rolls of dimes. "Oh My God, holy #$%^, HaHaHa, WOW, etc. were just some of the things I was saying. One roll out of $145 in CWRs from a bank was super-special and caused my joyous outburst. I tore off the end and saw the back of a merc, then noticed other silver edges right next to it - when I slid the entire roll out into my hand I almost fainted.

Total take in that roll: [39] mercury dimes!!!

In my hand is the total take for last week: [73] silver dimes - first week in a long time where I did not find any silver halves in boxes or bank stops, but the dimes sure paid huge dividends!!!

[30] roosies
[3] silver Canadian of each variety (1 KG, 1 QV 80% & 1 QV 50%)

Awesome find! How much total $$ did you have to search to find that many? Boxes or mostly CWRs?

I know exactly how you, a couple weeks ago (this was the first time I ever coin roll hunted) I went to my local TD and got 250 in dimes, and 250 in quarters. When the teller handed me the box of dimes open, I could instantly see silver staring me in the face in at least five rolls!!! I tried to keep a straight face and drove straight home, forgetting I had a solid hour of running around do too as well :P.

I opened up the 5 rolls that I saw had silver in them, and along with two others that were in the same brand of rolls... In those seven rolls alone I found 116 dimes!!! ha ha, got skunked on the rest of the dimes, and the quarters as well, but I didn't really care considering I had probably just found a mans life time collection of silver dimes, dating back to the 30s.

I think getting that lucky the first time around like that was a bit of a curse, always go back to the same bank expecting to find another one of this mans rolls, most I have gotten in a box since is 5 dimes..

Anyone else have crazy experiences like that :P?

I found a single Merc several weeks ago....I can't imagine what it would be like to find that many.

Wow,

Every time I go a box or two without a single silver coin I tell myself "that last roll could be all silver." Now I can actually believe me.
