Don't want to get myself in trouble here, but I have seen this lately with some new members. It makes me question their real identity, but I will not do that here as it violates TNet's rules.

It is a language barrier most likely. IPs of each have been foreign in 3rd world countries. You can report them but do not attack them.

I never heard that before, but I never do that. Shame on those who does. Good hunting and good luck.

Thanks Treasure Hunter, Ill stop reporting them if thats all it is....

What drives me nuts is when members 'reply with quote' on a long post then reply with a one or two word response.
Example: a member has a great hunt and regales us with a great story about the finds and posts lots of pictures.
Then someone else comes along and quotes the entire post with a reply like 'Great hunt!'
Seriously? You had to quote the whole damned post because you think we wouldn't figure out your two or three word reply was in reference to that post? :dontknow:
Also, if you are the first person to reply to an original post there's no need to 'reply with quote'. We can figure it out. :BangHead:

Will keep that in mind.:tongue3:

No sure why it matters..

couldn't help myself, you left it wide open!

Gopher... You asked for that. Lol

No sure why it matters..

It creates page clutter, makes threads difficult to read. I often abandon reading a thread when the quoted parts start obliterating the actual conversation.

Another thing that prompts me to abandon a thread is when people post music videos in every reply.

Language barrier is a big assumption supported only by the geographic location of the IP address.

English is the second language for the country of origin. 75% of the population speaks English. Google translate works there as well.

Something else going on other than a language barrier in my opinion.

Ip from opening thread link is from country in Nothern Africa, English is not their 2nd language, at most it is 3rd language, behind French.

Same MO as one from the Philippines...weird coincidence don't you think?

I see many people posting from other countries around the world..they always make an attempt using a translator program and apologize in advance if it doesn't come across correctly.

It was just my opinion.

20-30 consecutive posts that simply randomly repeat what somebody else said...odd.

Coincidences happen everyday. Each one has only used a single static ip, never shared the same ip even once.

Yes, it is odd. But just as odd, in my opinion, is why someone commenting with a quote can't cut out the irrelevant parts? Like I just did here.

Bots. Bots are the reason.
