why paint rim silver

some people are just cruel, after a while you can spot the fakes, just like canadian dimes or quarters in plastic rolls.

lol i find it funny when i find one of the silver painted or dyed rims. Amazes me the length some will go to mess with others. It probably comes from my military service but pranking others was a lot of our fun, and when i find these silver edged coins myself it just makes me smile.
 

Yeah I found a dime like that a few weeks ago in the middle of a 7 box dime skunk streak. It sucked.

Honestly, I think it is a sign that some people have wayyyy too much time on their hands. I very rarely see one that fools me. They simply don't look like silver. I do find a lot of them in my boxes though.
