a roll of copper cents is valued at $1 today. yesterday it was 95 cents a roll. if you don't keep copper cents, there is still time. go to the banks and get as many copper cents as you can. copper cents will always go up in value, plus you are getting them for face, so you have nothing to lose. it dosn't take up that much space either to store cents. if you spend these, years down the road you will say "why didn't i save my copper cents?" copper is going to be the new silver in a few years anyway. just think, when silver circulated, a few people saved these. and sold them for quite a profit. now, look at those people. i bet if they spent their silver coins they would be saying "why did i spend my silver coins?" so if you want to make a profit off cents in a few years, save up as many 1982 and older cents you can find, and hoard them away. :)

Any guesses on how high copper might get, what are you hoping for? I don't save these pennys yet but have considered it because it seems easy enough. I just don't know if it is worth the time and energy (plus kinda screwing over the U.S gov) vs. profit ... right now lets say it doubles your money, how many pre's are found on average in a box of pennys? How long does it take to check a box? When will I be able to sell these, isn't it illegal to melt right now? I dont mean to sound so greedy but 1959-1981 pennys dont have much collecting intrest for me. So many question because I love crhing and expanding my horizons couldn't come at a better time. It's been year of the skunk for me so far with halves :(

If you watch copper goes up during wars and down after. I would expect it to drop if and when this current war ends.

I've been reading about long-term copper interests, and they say that it is going to go up drastically in the years to come, maybe 20-30 years or so. Save 'em while you can! People will be CRH for copper cents in the years to come. I got 8 rolls of pennies today, and about a roll and a half were pre-'82s. Stowing them away for now, can't hurt.

I think the wheat/IH hunters just want help getting the crap outta the way... lol, jk ;)

You aren't kidding... hoarding copper is not as glamorous as hoarding silver, but I do it when I can't make it to the casino to search halves.

The fact that the government can make edicts like those preventing us from doing with our money what we want makes me more zealous in hoarding my silver and copper.

keep it up- you do not know how many TIMES people have said to me- "I wish I had saved all of those silver dollars and half dollars I spent in the turnpike." And I'm only 26. Eventually it will be the same with copper. ;D
