I think this maybee an older question but still not sure. Well primerally hunts coins and jewlry wonder if stock 7.5 klz is sufficient or is 18.75 worth buying and will it do better with Jewlry and gold any ideas anyone? :icon_scratch:

Some folks will jump in a tell ya to just get both.

I'm a coin & jewelry shooter myself (well, I WILL be). I'm not chasing little gold nuggets in the Pocono Mountains.

I went through the same thoughts as you 'cept I contemplated getting the 3kHz coil to compliment the 7.5kHz.

What'd I do?.....

I got them both! <grin!>

I ordered my X-Terra 705 with the additional 3kHz coil on Tuesday.

I can't WAIT!

Sorry that didn't help!

higher freq better for small gold in clean areas / shallow stuff (prospecting & not good for trash areas to sensative )---- lower freq better for coin shooting / bigger type gold jewelry --deeper stuff

I have a Tesoro Tejon with the 18 freq. and it does real well on gold. Silver will suffer a bit. I think you have a good coil for your application with the 7. The 18 is very good for relic hunting if you get into that, but for coins and jewlery, I think the 7 is your best bet. Hope this helps! :occasion14:

I use the 18.75 in city parks and the 3 in old homesteads. I have found jewelry and coins with the 18.75. Quite frankly I've never used my 7.5. I have 5 different coils for my X-70 and must admit the 3KHz is my favorite. Yes, I think the, (From what I read) 7.5 will be a very good all around performer.

Thanks guys i guess ill try the 7.5 klz for a while and see what happens maybee iventually get the 18.75klz and give it a try.
