Yes it was in a field, I'm just curious if you can provide a bit more info on what it came off of.

I'm thinking 'plow related' as well, I've found similar pieces in the farm fields.

Looks sorta like a " New ground colter " They (one) were in the plow stock just ahead of the plow point and cut roots when you were plowing new ground. But I've never seen one that short. They were always sharp on the front side to make root cutting easier. I do not think that is what it is but it may be...d2
