Wilcox Sereated Digging Tool

Just received this today, it is the Wilcox, All-Pro No. 251. Appears to be the perfect tool for cutting plugs and scooping lots of dirt versus using a light weight shovel. The dimensions are: 11 inches long x 3 inches wide. The blade is 1 1/2 inches wide at the handle junction.

If it works well my next step is to get a sheath for it. I will put it to the test tomorrow.

These are also available without a serrated edge.... otherwise they are identical to the one Pointman purchased.

Wilcox tools are great tools,
I have had their 101s and the 100s for years without any issues.

It works really good for making plugs. I like it because it is less noticeable then carrying my Sampson. I create the plug with the Wilcox and then pull the dirt out with my Lesche. The serrations make a big difference in the harder ground.

Oh, one other thing, the pictures are deceiving. The blades are much thicker then they look. My guess they are thicker then an 1/8". I absolutely cannot see one ever breaking.

I have a Wilcox digging tool that is not sereated,but it works real good in Texas soils.I got mine for $1 at a garage sale.
