Hello all,

These pics were taken a few years ago. My work desk is situated near a window, where I placed a bird feeder right outside. So, while I was working one day this male Grosbeak landed on my windowsill, checking things out I guess. I began placing seeds on the windowsill and he kept coming back. I then opened the window and ran a short wood plank from the sill to my work desk, leaving a trail of seeds. Sure enough that critter walked the plank and eventually onto my desk. I then sprinkled seeds on my desk, near my keyboard, etc and this crazy bird began hanging out with me as I worked all day. He came on a regular basis, everyday for 2 weeks straight. It was the coolest thing.

That is really cool to be able to coax a beautiful bird like that, and feed it by hand. Most likely bird had previously been around other humans?

Thanks for sharing your experience, that must have been awesome.

That's the most awesome thing ever! Love the grosbeaks.

After about 2 weeks, a female Grosbeak showed up and the male dissapeared , never saw him again

Wonderful pictures, super story and beautiful bird...thanks for sharing it with us.:icon_thumleft:

Neat pics. When I was a kid I rescued a rose breasted grosbeak that was being tormented by some other kids. I took it home and nursed it back to health. He became very tame and, after a few weeks of healing, he flew off. He hung around for a few days but finally disappeared. My mom took this pic. (comments on my pic not allowed unless positive) :)
