Everyone, I just wanted to chime in here. The Trond, AND the Miccus SR71 headphones BOTH used to work PERFECTLY with the Equinox. However, some folks have recently said that they have bought Miccus SR71 headphones very recently, that WON'T pair, like Felix is saying, above. I THINK (not sure, but THINK) that the issue is that the Miccus SR71 headphones have changed. The SR71s USED to be Bluetooth V4.2, and now, have "upgraded" to Bluetooth V5.0, and this 5.0 version (as far as I can tell) is the one folks are having trouble with. The old V4.2 sets have always worked perfectly. I have yet to hear someone say they couldn't get a V4.2 SR71 to pair properly.
HOWEVER, as far as I know, the Trond phones are still V4.2 Bluetooth, and so -- since nothing has changed with the Trond phones (and since we know that they used to work properly with the Equinox), my guess is that they are the "safer" option than the Miccus SR71 phones at this point (unless you find an older pair of the SR71's that are V4.2).
This information is only what I have pieced together from hearing folks' experiences, from different forums, so I am not certain what the deal is. Some folks speculated that the "change" that has occurred that has led to some incompatibility is with the Minelab firmware update, instead of being due to the change in the Miccus phones from V4.2 to V5.0. However, this seems unlikely to me -- because as far as I know, anyone using V4.2 SR71 headphones with the old Equinox firmware, are having no problem with their SR71's AFTER upgrading the firmware. So, the issue seems to be, as far as I can tell, with the NEW Miccus SR71 headphones.
Finally, I am not sure if it is specifically Bluetooth V5.0 that is incompatible with the Equinox, or if something else was also changed in Miccus's V5.0 phones that has caused the incompatibilty. This would be a good thing to know, because if it is indeed V5.0 Bluetooth that causes the incompatibility, then there may be additional Equinox pairing problems begin to crop up, with other-branded headphones, in the future, as the move to Bluetooth V5.0 continues...
ANY OTHER first-hand experience, from other Equinox users, on this issue, would be appreciated...
