This isn't really a bottle, but it's in the bottle collection so it gets the same format as everything else. It's a pressed glass paperweight. It is open at the top and could have done double duty as a toothpick holder or salt dish or any other task a small open container was appropriate. This was produced by the Windsor Glass Company in Homestead, Pennsylvania between 1887 and 1889. It was originally available in three color choices -- clear (shown here), amber, and blue.
I couldn't find any advertisements for their products, though there were several help wanted ads.
I also found a news story about a robbery that took place where the woman threw an anvil paperweight at her attackers. It doesn't specify whether it was a glass anvil or not, but who knows? Maybe it could hold papers down, hold toothpicks or salt, and double as an improvised weapon.
You gotta watch those guys with dark suits and fake mustaches.
