Went out the last 2 days and had to dig through at least an inch of frozen ground. Today was much worse some places were froze solid and couldn't get the screwdriver in. Have to hunt in sunny tall grass areas were the ground isn't so tough. Yesterday scored a 1897 2 Heller Austrian coin today got a 1945 D Wheat and a 1943D Merc. Hopefully this isn't it for the year.
Thanks for looking

Haaaa , I feel your pain. Oldjerseygirl and I were talking about how last winter we just would not give up. I remember the one day digging through 3 inch thick frozen ground. I was also out by myself, 6 degrees 30 mph winds, using a hammer and a hatchet to cut through the frozen ground (after three of those plugs I quit)

Your finds, especially that Austrian coin were a great hunt! The little extra work is worth it at that site, maybe one of these would help.
