I was dumping halves at the coinstar at the bank at my work and noticed a few other people dumping coins inbetween my trips to the car. I asked the teller afterwards if anyone turned in any rejects. "No, but last week someone dropped off a whole bunch of half dollars, silver ones!" I tried to stay calm and asked what had happened to them and she said the other teller had bought them all up, and "she ain't sharing." They see me in there all the time and know what I do. I used to order boxes from them. But, I can't blame them for not letting me know...

I came back later to ask the teller who got them how many there were and what years if she could remember.
"Oh I cant remember now....I think it was twenty-..."

I'm thinking Jesus a solid roll.

"Twenty-eight dollars worth" She couldn't tell me years or if they were all Kennedys.

A woman had brought them in and the coinstar wouldn't take them so she cashed them in at the window. Can't help but imagine what if I was walking by or dumping at the time she was. FML. HH.

I went in today and bought the bulk of the halves off the teller. 26 40% and 7 1964's. I paid $107. 2.50 per 40% and 6 per 90%. How'd I do?? Didn't wanna pay that much but I wanted to get those!

VERY good. You could sell those at a profit right now. You'd probably make an extra $40. You paid significantly under melt for them.

Of course I'd hold, but you got a good deal.

I don't understnd why you were mad. So, someone else got some silver. Be happy for them. Should we all onthis site be "mad" every time YOU find silver, because it could have stayed in the systemand come to US? No. The teller found a solid roll of silver. Cool. Good for her. Makes me inspired to know they are still being dumped. And happy for her gain.

Don't be so self centered that you can't rejoice with others when they TOO get something good. It's just not a good way to CRH. And seems more prevelent lately than it ever has been.

If you bought a lotto ticket then found out the guy you let in front of you won would you give it a second thought? Did I say I cursed her and ran out? No, I congratulated her on her score and today I paid her off. Go troll a pokemon forum.

Didn't seem like he said he was mad at the teller personally. I've been there. It's a feeling of disappointment - having just missed something sweet. I say bravo to him for sticking with it and courteously buying them from the teller. May have even strengthened the relationship so the tellers know they have an easy buyer.
