Wish us luck! My first gold panning adventure tomorrow! Update post 13

Brother and I are going out to one of the GPAA claims to pan for gold.
We got our sluice, pans, digging stuff, and my AT Gold Metal Detector.

Not to mention some great ham sandwiches and corn nuts! :tongue3:

We don't expect to find the fabled 10# gold nugget, but we will get plenty of exercise. :laughing7:

Tomorrow is going to be a fun day. :hello2:

I will update after the big gold prospecting expedition!

Best of luck and let us know how it goes EmptyPockets!

im trying to figure out if im finding flour gold when i go to my creek and get some samples and pan them out down to the black sand im finding a goldish brown material that seems to be as heavy or a little heavier than bs and is about the same size as bs is there some other mineral that looks like this. ive never seen flour gold so im not sure this is it but every time i pan some of the cons this always stays in the pan with the bs any advise as how to tell or test to see if this is flour gold would be greatly appreciated. John

Good luck on your outing. Maybe you will be able to change your name.

Good luck on hope you find some nice gold.

Do how did it go? Did you guys survive? Did you get rich & go on vacation?
WHERE ARE THE PICTURES????????

Sorry about the late posting, work.

Sorry about the late posting. We had to work through a few buckets of concentrate...er, not exactly concentrate but a ton of dirt. :tongue3:

We had a blast of a time.
We worked two locations. The first location didn't get us anything. :(
But I did mostly metal detecting and found these...

Quarters, dimes, pennies, 40cal casing and a 45 ACP round...live. :tongue3:
3-way swivel, bottle cap, a pretty rock, an old nail and you get the picture....

At our second location, we didn't pan. Instead we dug up allot of dirt from the bank were we thought there would be gold and brought it home. My brother didn't work on it as he wasn't feeling good. I just finished about 90% of it.

Yes we found gold.
Of note was this first flake!
My first found by myself from gold country. Straight from the river banks. So I guess I'm not a virgin now.
I found some tiny tiny flour gold and was able to scarf them up.

Your first flake looks like the state of California.

Gold or not.
My brother and I had allot of fun.
Next time we are going to try the same location and spend the night.
I hope we find a few more flakes. :laughing7:

Also, we are going to bring the metal detectors and see if we can find some cool finds.
