Hello,
I'm a prospector living in the Dillard GA and Otto NC area (almost on the state line). I've read a lot and now it's time to post. I'm hoping to network with others in the area and compare notes. I'm pretty new at this but have done my "homework" and have managed to find color. I'm currently investigating an old placer mine (pre-1840s) and have come across some veins that look promising. May be asking a lot of questions soon.

Basically, I'm asking what the hell I'm looking at. Potential gold? What are the colorful minerals. Any good links to guides or book recommendations would be most appreciated.
