"Kasteel van Woerden", lost in 1748 on a reef 3 miles off the coast, in broad daylight, during a trip from Samarang to Batavia. 250 loads of rice and 288,142 lb of sugar were lost, the crew was saved. The skipper, Fredrik van der Lith, was found guilty of the loss.
