I have found a cool old charm that is silver in color (not sure gold or silver) about 1" heart that is open in the center but has 2 levers at the bottom and when pressed 2 people kiss in the center. How can I find out more about this piece?

Google 1950's mechanical heart couple kissing charm. I only found one photo on pinterest, no info except 1950's

Is it marked for sterling?

Could be tough to find any info without a makers name, but like Molewacker said, I'd start with Google or take it to a few jewelry stores.
