🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Wood or bone?

Hello! A few years back a friend of mine found this thingy around the Caribbean island. We had a long debate about the origin of it and while i think it's just a part of an exotic tree left in saltwater. They think it might be bones. Please help us identify and include the way you are sure about what it is.

if it has any amount of weight to it
...it might be eroded coral but if its light for its size then perhaps it's a type of wood
Does it sink or float in water?

If it was bone, then what bone is it? Upper leg into the hip, maybe?
