I haven’t been out much at all recently, and was starting to think I wouldn’t have much to show for 2020. Today I was able to get out in a field next to a very active route during the civil war. We were very optimistic, and my uncle started out with 2 knapsack hooks. Shortly after I got my first bullet and a flat button, then I started walking toward a telephone pole and that’s when I got my best find, a Confederate Block A! I’ve found numerous state buttons, but this is my first confederate lettered button. Very excited and with new found adrenaline, we hunted for a couple more hours. I managed to find a few more bullets and some small pistol balls that they must’ve been making right where we found them, they are very crude and still have the sprues. I also found an interesting piece of brass with writing I’ll probably post in what is it. Anyways, that Block A is my find of the year, so very happy with today.
