Or so I'm told by the creatures I encountered today. Autumn officially begins tomorrow. I got to get up in the hills to see all the wonderful colors going on up there now. I may go up to Rocky Mountain National Park this Saturday hopefully?. If I don't go, I do have a long road trip ahead next week that'll take me all the way to Las Vegas. Hopefully I'll see some wonderful sites along the way there and back.

Awesome! I wish I had subjects like that around here. Unless Y'all want to see pictures of my neighbors dogs and cats!

Dogs, Cats and bunny's is pretty much what I find in my neighborhood also. These I took in a large open space land that was once a large farm. They've been somewhat conscientious in buying up land in order to preserve nature around here in Boulder county. It really makes it nice to get out and enjoy some of the sites. Still you hear all the noise of the traffic around and airliners flying overhead every 5 minutes, so it's still not perfect place of peace.

The camouflage on the owl is amazing.
So is it's ability to turn it's head completely backwards to see what's making that sound of a chipmunk, which was me trying to get it's attention. It seemed I was disturbing it's rest from the way it looked at me. That owl was one of the biggest I've ever seen around here. I'm going to say it was maybe 3 and a half + feet tall. It was a big owl.

Great pics! Trees are changing here, also. We're having low's in the 40's and even down into the 30's. I'm actually NOT looking forward to this particular winter, but will be nice when the last of the skeeters are completely gone for the year. However, they've been few and far between for some weeks now. ...And almost never any aircraft flying overhead!! :occasion14:

We haven't gotten the word about summer ending down here. Probably won't get it for another month or two!
