Words that describe our sport - need help.

I am looking for terms that describe metal detecting, or treasure hunting.

Here in California, we call it "dirt fishing" and I've heard it called
"coin shooting" too.

What other terms, phrases, expressions are you familiar with?

when the dirt is frozen solid, I call it dirt "nappin". Another favorite is " Dirt Farming".Or, gettin' "down and dirty"........NGE
