Hello,
I have not worked at all this week. Normally that would be fine, more time to detect, but, my detectors are both dead as doornails. Well, not quite, but Minelab is going to send me a BRAND NEW Excal2 to replace my lemon unit. WOOHOO!
I have hunted land and sea many times, with little to show. Sand has been moving a lot, but not a lot of targets have been washing in. I did manage a couple silver rings over the last week, and they are pictured.
Last night, I found about 15 targets in a period of an 90-120 miniutes. Slow was the word, but one item was noteworthy. At the waters edge, I recieved a low trashy growl. Kinda by luck too - when the waves wash over my coil, I get a bit of falsing. When it happened this time tho it didnt quite sound right, so I double checked it, and there it was, a nice low growl. Digging was definatly a bear, as wave after wave refilled my hole. But, after 8-10 scoops, the target was out!
I dumped the sand, and in the gloomy moonlight, I saw something poking out. Reaching down, I grabbed it, and pulled out a nice big ring. And the gleam! GOLD!! I waled up to the wet sand, set the detector down, and like Gollum - crouched down in the darkness and admired it....my precious...
This marks a first for me, and this was definatly on my wish list. A class ring! There is a name on it and a year, but no school. This will be a toughie to track down, but I will try. Hurts to consider I may get nada for such a nice find, but, others will come. At least I found gold tho, this is the first piece of gold since the big diamonds ring over a month ago.
Happy Hunting,
Anthony
