I have done some knapping and I don't think they look like they were worked. They just might be natural. Just my 2 cents worth.

I usually draw a lot of Ire for my opinions in this area but I think they look like preforms for rifle flints, not just "dumb natural rocks"! Perhaps they were culls but worked just the same!

Welcome hunter and don't stop dreamin or lookin!

Thanks y’all I don’t get to hunt as much as I’d like but working on well sites I do score on the fossils for the kids and find lots of flint still check streams back home just hoping to find my first arrowhead or anything but no luck yet one of these days though I’ll get lucky lol thanks for the thoughts and if this flint would work for rifle flints I could score a lot of ppl some it’s everywhere out here idk if it’s hard enough though

I didn't call them " dumb natural rocks " I just said I thought they might be natural.

They looked worked to me, maybe they where part of something broken or what I call wasters - failed pieces, or knocked off bits.

I believe it's a pressure flake or a remnant of a piece that was being worked that was knocked off in the process. When I do find complete or pieces of finished artifacts, I almost always find pieces like that in the same area. To me they're a good indication of an area to look for arrowheads and other artifacts.

Can't say what it is, but it is most definitely worked and an artifact or part of one. Is it uniface or worked on both sides?

I concur it’s worked flint.

If there's a quantity of artifacts in that area made of the same light colored material they should be easy to spot in the creeks and washouts!

Its always hard to know trust me if I was around back then a worked a piece of flint I doubt you would know lol they werent all skilled.lol

Welcome from MI. Tommy

Yea both sides have what look like to be work on them but the location where I picked it up is a oil and gas well site so hard to say where they came from it’s all gravel out here but always find chunks of flint but that it the first piece I’ve ever picked up and looks like it’s been worked to me.

Thanks everyone for the opinions
