Rhyolite Game Piece??

Hey yall! Found this really odd piece today on an archaic site in Davie Co, NC. It’s a piece of super sun-bleached rhyolite and has clearly been ground into disc shape. Any ideas?

It just looks like a good skipping rock to me (for skipping down the creek).

Hard to say. Doesn’t look thick enough to me. I have one and it’s thicker and very flat on both sides. Could have been something they were trying to shape that didn’t work out. I still have rocks that I believe are something that I keep.

It doesn’t look right as a game piece IMO.
I too have several pieces that I’m unsure about.
