I think it's a knob off of a coal oil lamp. Should have the company and date on it. :thumbsup:

Kas, I think you are probably right. It's a knob of some sort. This one is 9/16 in diameter. Yours appears to be a little bigger. I'm unable to make out any words on it though ???

Thanks for the help...

Wick advance knobs can be marked as in these examples...

* WHEEL BRAND *
Sherwoods, B'Ham.
Kosmos Brenner
The Miller Co. Made in U.S.A.
Sherwoods Ltd. BHAM
The P & A Mfg Co., Made in U.S.A.
Sherwoods of Birmingham
Manhattan Brass Co. N. Y.

The lamps were made in every country by a million makers... Maybe one day you'll figure it out... :)

Cool find/s

You just keep hammering them out that is truly a button tree (or lamp knob tree) either way I can't believe your still pulling stuff out of there.

Tree O' Plenty for sure,

I guess the clam does not know how to post on TNET....laaaaazzzzy

It's what they said it is. I got one last year with the manufacturer's info on it like yours has. Mine wasn't one of the mfr's that were listed earlier, but a netsearch did turn up the company as an 1800's lamp maker.

It's a good find.
