Would you risk it?

do it... gotta take a risk sometime, and with silver hitting almost $3 a dime, you can take a 30 dime loss with only one find

If it was from a old place I wold that the chance. It be like buying a lottery ticket. You may hit it big or you can lose.....Matt

Coin roll hunting isn't an exact science, yes, you are going to be a few rolls short occasionally when you order boxes. Yes, when you buy bags you might find out that there are a few pennies mixed in there. But you never know until you buy it.

OP's question reminds me of an inspirational poster I saw in high school.

It said, "A ship in a harbor is safe... but that is not what ships were built for."

Ya gotta take risks if you hope to get lucky, friend. I think I would buy it.

I bought $1000 of dimes from a coinsorter (as my first foray into dimes) and came up with 7 silvers. As I rolled the dimes, I found they were about $15 short somehow. I was upset at the time, but with the price of silver now, I came out ahead anyways.

Just hope it's not $100 short. B Nice to know what a $500 bag weighs.

I think right at 25 pounds Fist. I say go for it. If it were a old bank in a small town. I would drive you.

All right I'll do it! Results and since you all convinced me, Ill give you half the profits :laughing7:

Fist, here's what the Base Metal Melt Value says:

Total Face Value: $500.00
Coin Type: 1965-2011 Roosevelt Dime
Copper Price: $4.2957 / pound

Nickel Price: $12.1275 / pound

Answer:

Total melt value is $123.70.

(exact value is $123.70430422484)

Statistics:

» There are 22.9179 pounds of copper and 2.0825 pounds of nickel in $500.00 face value of dime(s).

***25.0004 pounds, if they're all clad. Good guess, Dave!***

nothing ventured --nothing gained .

in life even getting out of bed in the morning is a risk * who knows you might some how stumble or trip and fall down and break your neck doing so -- but--it is for sure if you just lay there you'll slowly but surely starve and thrist to death -- what to do , what to do?

so in life there is really no choices but 2 --#1 to "get up" out of bed and live it (by taking "chance's") , or #2 to slowly but surely rot to death lying in bed (due to fear of failure / being hurt).
