Went to metal detect another park and see what I could find.. Found a lot of clad.. small ring, pendant and a clod of dirt.( what the heck ) I was kind of puzzled, ??? the pinpointer was going haywire so I rubbed of the dry dirt and found a pendant. I thought well that is kinda neat and dropped into the pouch Went home and cleaned my finds with some warm soapy water. So I was checking my finds with my mini magnifier and low and behold its 14K gold. :hello2:
Had a soak in vinegar to clean it better.. HH...

Is it your photo that makes it look pinkish/red?

If not it surely doesn't look to be gold, but I hope it is.

Congrats awesome piece! How much does it weigh?

Your pic has pinkish tint in the whole thing. Maybe something red was reflected in the pic?

That my friend looks like pure copper, especially after the vinager bath, still a nice find, congrats.

cool piece, not so sure it is actually gold at all

A gold test kit would come in handy for you. Precious metals test kits are relatively inexpensive, and I consider essential tools in a treasure hunter's tool box!

I have found a few pieces marked as gold that were not.

I'm betting it's just a bad photo thrown off by the red in the measuring cup, and that it is actually gold.
