I don't count "bling" as coming a long way. Still, so far, 51 beach trips and zero gold, one silver.
My apologies upfront to the other members of this forum, but I'll be venting a bit on this one.
CH, Dude, you're missing the point and big picture. You started out finding nothing, just junk like we all find. I seem to recall one of your posts where you were praying to find a ring, any ring, even said you'd take a fake ring, just to be able to find a ring. Then you graduated from finding nothing but trash to finding your first bling, and I congratulated you on that find. It wasn't gold but it was bling and much higher up the target scale than a pull-tab. Most recently, you posted that you found several rings/bling while working in the water, one I think was gold plated? And once again, I congratulated you as that was a good size jump up for your level of experience & where you started. So may not have been solid gold, but there's still gold in gold plated. What’s more exciting to find, a gold-plated ring or a pull-tab?
Everyone else on this forum is also finding non gold/silver rings & bling, but every now & then, they'll hit on some gold/silver. We all find trash and fake jewelry; that's just part of the game. You've proven that you have the persistence needed, but I think your mindset needs some serious work. If you think about where you found those most recent rings, like I alluded to in my prior reply above, you now know the area of the beach you need to continue working and focusing on.
So, you've grown from finding nothing & being totally green, to finding a lot of trash, to finding your first bling, to finding several rings/bling. Real or not, you're now finding the type of targets you've been looking for, and odds are if you
keep hunting the same area where you found those other rings, you’ll find more and one/some of them will turn out to be gold/silver. So yeah, I think it's safe to say that you've grown quite a bit since you first started. I know you are brand new to this hobby, started in the Spring I think? Many of us have been hunting for decades. We're all trying to help you by giving you advice, tips, tricks, answer your questions, or even just trying to help keep you motivated.
That said, I gotta tell ya brother, and I'm not trying to offend you, but it just seems like you don't either want to or seem to take anyone's advice. I've looked back through a good number of reply posts from me as well as other members to you, offering you advice or tips, basically trying to help you in whatever way we could. But in all those posts I looked at, you didn't even acknowledge their posts, or mine for that matter, or show any appreciate whatsoever by taking 1 friggin’ nanosecond to give their post a Like or reply to their post with a thanks. I can’t believe I took more of my personal time to compose the extensive reply I made to you above.
But wait, there’s more. Just recently, you posted wanting to know how to reset your Manti back to factory specs. I replied by taking a screen shot from the Minelab Manticore owner’s manual with the specific steps you needed to reset your machine, and I don’t even own a Manticore. I took the time to download a copy so I could provide you with the answer. I even included a link where you could download your own copy. Did you give my post a Like or even a reply to acknowledge the time I took to answer your question? Nope, nada, zilch.
Did you even download the Owner’s Manual using the link I provided? I don’t think so because several days later, you posted again, asking how to change the ferrous/non-ferrous Target ID color from black to red. I couldn’t believe it; I gave you the link to download the owner’s manual several days prior, and the answer is simple to find in that manual. But once again, I took MY time to find the answer for you in the Manticore manual, took another screenshot of the specific page that provides instructions on how to change the color, gave that to you along with suggesting again that you download the manual so you wouldn’t have to keep posting questions, you’d have the resource to be able to look up the answers yourself.
If you would have downloaded the manual as I had suggested, you wouldn’t have needed to make the second post asking how to change the Target ID color, because the answer is right there in the manual. And once again, did you take a sec to give my reply post a Like or even a short reply to acknowledge the time I took to help you out? Nope, nada, you just kept right on going by making more posts complaining about not finding gold.
The reply post I did for you above took me a good amount of my time to put together & type up. Yet, you didn't give my extensive post a Like or even reply with a thanks or even a question or two to inquire further about the info I was giving you. All you did was to reply with a single sentence, blowing off my comment about you coming a long way since you recently started, followed by more complaining about not finding gold. No Like, no thanks, nada, just blew me off and resumed your complaint campaign.
At this point, I don’t know what to tell you. You don’t seem to listen to the advice everyone’s been giving you. Or maybe you have & we just don’t know because you never seem to acknowledge anyone for taking the time to try to give you some help. After raising 3 children to adulthood, I really thought I was done having to deal with whining, crying & complaining, but I guess not. So, at this point, it’s obvious that there’s nothing I would be able to provide to help you with your dilemma, so I’m gonna respectfully bow out, stop wasting my time, and let you figure things out for yourself.
