Found this wreath buckle in some woods, but not a whole lot of time to see what else was around it to help identify. I do not think it is civil war. Any ideas to the time period this is from?

It is a Civil War Confederate style. Note the small oak leaves. Do you think it's a reenactor's piece?

I do think so. Where I located it in the woods would not be anywhere a reenactment would take place. It would be also be odd for someone to be walking around and lose a reproduction where I found it. This buckle seems to be the closest to it I have found so far.

Which this guy was calling 'post war,' but not much detail beyond that.

Very nice find. The other piece to it could be close by. Good luck if you go back in there.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice find, congratulations! :occasion14:

It's a "serif" style buckle. Definitely CS tongue. :occasion14:

Well done I would go back for more

Appreciate the info! I will certainly keep looking for the rest.
