I just follow my nose!...where the silver and gold goes!
Minelab 5000, Goldmaster, and a few others
XRF spectrometer, Common sense.
Primary Interest:
Prospecting
Did a box of Nickels and did ok I think.
Some weird stuff came up though, some good some I dont know, I did get my first Buffalo!
A 1936
Also a 43D war
A hand full over other pre 60s not worth the mention.
HOWEVER!
One of the nickels was a 2004 D with most of the letters missing and very week, the rest are very strong.
The IN GOD WE TRUST and Liberty is almost not there at all, same with the 2004d its like a ghost, but jeff is nice and strong but has no nose!
back is the same way
UNITED is almost gone, STATES OF is half there, And the last part is MERICA with a ghost A
The E is gone but Pluribus Unum is there.
Lousian Purchase is mostly gone with Louisi..................Se
The rest of the details are strong.
The Lip around the coin is stong so it cant be wear? or can it?

Next Error is a bunch of cracks on in the metal on a 2000D
Jeffs Collar is cracked but still on the coin, behind his head by the date is a half reverce C shape about to peal off.

Any value on these or should I toss em back?

The 2004D sounds like it was struck through grease....not much of a premium. The 200D looks like it is severe lamination, which could be worth 10-15 bucks, maybe more, I'm not really sure.

that 2004 grease nickel isn't worth anything, just toss it into the reject pile. the lamination nickel is worth around $20. nice find on the buffalo and war nickel! 8)
