WW2 Bombing Range

Found this piece at a U.S. bombing practice range. At least four planes are known to have crashed at this site, and I wonder if it might be from one of the wrecks. Any ideas what it could be?

Hard to tell unless it has some numbers or markings on it.

Looks like a piece of bent aluminum.
