Ugh--it's written in Fraktur (the old alphabet) that I never learned to read.

Do you have the name of the paper and the date it was published--maybe it's online somewhere where it might be easier to read.

The headline in the 3rd pictures is "A new, a united Germany."

This might be the name of newspaper

It’s at the back on bottom right......I can’t find a date though

I don't know the German language nor am I a German history scholar. However, the article may have something to do with Adolf Hitler being appointed Chancellor in January 1933 by President von Hindenberg, who was re-elected in 1932 and died in August 1934. At least this narrows down the date range a bit until you're able to find a more legible copy.

Dr Paul Joseph Goebbels became Reich Ministry of Propaganda on 14 March 1933.

Hermann Göring became Minister President of Prussia on 10 April 1933.

So the paper couldn't be printed any earlier than Apr 33.

I think the only way to truly solve your mystery... is you need to take the plastic off.

If you did want to preserve this piece for posterity, you're going to have to unwrap it anyway.

Hi,

First of all "Fortsetzung" is not the name of the Newspaper yet means "to be continued" (next number?; next page?).

The text is one formless and disgusting mess of adulation and propaganda in favor of the Nazis and their take-over in 1933. If it was a real nazi paper or just a normal rag that wanted not to be closed, that IDK.

I think its pretty early into the Nazi period mainly because: i) no mention of the war and ii) Hitler is still named Reichskanzler not Führer.

Sorry if I cant help further. I think its worth preservation, just to show the sheer amount of brown-nosing humans are capable.

I will take it out a little later so it can be read more clear......my grandfather had cousins in German military so I’m guessing this article was mailed to him at some point for some reason

going with Namxat info, i searched some of the info and names in your
papers, and did a search of the NP link, did not find that paper. did find
the stories though. JW you may want to keep those papers.when going
through the list @ NP link, there are hardly any for 1933,and a few that
the dates start in late summer. im thinking that was Hitlers
propaganda
machine that
Goebbels was in charge of. when out of plastic we should
no more
link to Hitler as chancelier, the fire, and Goebbels

It amazes me that Hitlers style of mustache never caught on. :BangHead: :laughing7:

The last picture is of The Day of Potsdam--March 21, 1933 when there was a huge ceremony for the opening of the new Reichstag. Most of what little I got before I was defeated by the Fraktur was about how wonderful it would be under the new Democratic Socialist government.
