Metal Detecting
I found this lead soldier metal detecting recently and was hoping somebody knows a little bit more about it. I have searched on this forum and the internet but with not much luck other than thinking it is a WWI soldier.

The only identification I see is on the back. The soldier is in pretty great shape with most of the paint still intact.

Thanks for looking.

Subterranean is a toy expert... especially these soldiers... hopefully he will chime in.

I really like the lead toy soldiers, and yours is just awesome.

Congrats sir!

Well done!

I believe this is a Barclay cast metal soldier. They were manufactured from the 1930s through WW2. I believe this one is the "Observer". Lucky you for finding a complete one! I have found legs, heads, arms, but have yet to find a complete one.

Edit: Here's some links..

Barclay's Barclay Gallery

The Manoil "Observer" is different: Manoil Gallery
