Found this metal detecting today. It’s Circa World War II. This is a World War II Nazi Navy Administrative Officer metal, pin-on breast eagle badge. The badge is an eagle with spread wings holding a swastika in its talons.

Also found a cow tag, draped bust large cent, and a button.

Cool find , may be a old pow camp in area

Very interesting. Maybe a dropped war souvenir? I found a Nazi eastern front medal last year, and am guessing that was the situation. Either that or a German immigrant farmhand lost it..who knows. Great find no matter what.

Cool!!! Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Very nice find, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Wow, that's an amazing piece! It's crazy to think of all the interesting trinkets the US military folk must've brought back. Not many people will be able to find one of those!

Without seeing the back, hollow or massive, with the markers stamps and correct measurements it could even be a hat badge, used widely from army, navy, air force to police, forestry and post. Nonetheless a cool find. Most are broken or crushed.

The US didn't allow POW's to wear their insignia during WW2. Canada, however, did. I saw a pic of a rec hall in a Canadian POW camp that had a big Nazi flag on the wall and most prisoners were wearing their uniforms. Also, you can tell the eagle is not an SS eagle by the tips of the wing feathers. Gary

That's a nice lot of keepers in one day

Cool finds- Congrats!

Thats an awesome hunt I love that insignia and the coin is icing on the cake. I need a piece soon lol Well done Tommy

LIKE the war medal! Well, if is anything like what happened to some of my dad's war souvenirs then some kids got into their dad's stash and lost it playing Army.

Nice! Could be war souvenir. My grandpa was given boxes of nazi stuff, knives, metals, etc by his uncle who was in WWII. My grandma found it and threw it in the dump bc she didn’t want evil in her house ??? I told her I would have gladly taken the evil!

Awesome find and right up my alley! I'm an avid collector of WW2 Nazi war artifacts. I see you are from New Jersey and there were quite a few WWII POW camps in New Jersey; Perhaps one of them is near where you found this:
