Thought this was a good article that some of you might like. When we think of pow camps, this is not what we envision, but gives more information on the camps in Mississippi. I didn't realize how many pows there were in MS. German Prisoners of War in Mississippi, 1943-1946 | Mississippi History Now

I found a coin at the camp near Leland yrs ago ...... I can't remember what country it was from , but I don't think it was Germany.... several of the POWs got sponsors and moved their families back to the Greenville area after the war ...... I knew several of the guys .... they are all gone now however ....

it is easy to find information about the big camps but I have not found much on the local camps, it is a lot of fun doing the research and letting friends and family know was some of the local history. I just wish it would dry-up some this Delta mud is a mess.
