Hit the old WWII sands today.

Got 3 Mercury dimes all from 1944, a very fat and heavy jewel-encrusted Sterling ring, a Sterling Silver WWII Armaments Factory 'Control Excellence' pin (awarded to armaments factory workers who met certain production achievements until December of 1945), silver ear ring studs, silver St. Mary medallion, silver jeweled flower pin, and the best find of the day: a rare WWII US Coast Guard Auxiliary hat badge.

The US Coast Guard Auxiliary was responsible for saving the lives of several hundred shipwrecked merchant sailors and other victims of German U-Boat attacks. Although they didn't participate in any active fighting they were constantly on call to rescue people in the waters off the US East Coast.

They also regularly did mounted beach patrols. One of them may have lost their hat along the way!
