Working now with the X-terra 30 and about to move up.
I've been thinking of the X-Terra 70, because although I am mostly
a coin shooter, where I live there are lots of gold fields around.
I want to be able to start adding nugget hunting to the TH-ing.

Since I've gotten to know the sounds pretty well now, I'm not sure I really
need a detector with target ID, so I'm looking at the Sovereign.
I LIKE the idea of multiple frequencies, and with gold being at least
a possibility, it would be nice to get the Sov. with the higher frequencies in it.

So, it's down to this:

Buy the X-Terra 70 and get the extra high freq. coil for gold,

OR

Buy the Sovereign and do it all with one coil.

Any suggestions??

As great as the Sov GT is for coin hunting and beach, it is not the best choice for tiny gold nuggets. The X70 is the one that has the extra gain for locating nuggets and the smaller coil will also allow you to search closer to large rocks and brush. The higher frequency coil helps but it is not the main reason to use it.

Good Luck,
Sandman
