Detector(s) used
Ace 400, AT Pro, equinox 800, Simplex,Vanquish 540
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Barely used, under 5 hours on it. Had it around a year, collecting dust.
Have been maintaining charges, updated to V4, warranty is transferable far as I know.
Comes with original box, all accessories and I'll throw in the andy sabisch handbook [which I have never read, of course]

This is a pattern for me, buying a higher end detector and never using it. Started with a Minelab Quatro, used it once and sold it at a loss.
F-75SE, barely used it and also sold it at a loss. Near as I can figure, reasons are:

* I'm not a depth monster, and in fact don't enjoy digging 12" holes in anything but ideal soil conditions. I am content to clean up everything down to 7" or so, and the Ace 400 does that just fine
* Not that I am shy of a learning curve, but I feel I am wasting time doing it. Between work, family, other hobbies ect I have limited time, I want to spend that detecting, not putting 100's of hours getting proficient on a new machine [should be noted, of course you can turn on and go with the Deus just like any other detector, you just won;t get all you can out of the machine, which negates the reason for buying it in the first place]
* Main reason I think is my detecting style - I do most of it on the fly, I'll see a field or pass a school and think hey, why not detect ? I keep the Ace in my truck the whole detecting season so it is always handy, would not feel comfortable leaving a $1k detector in my truck like that.
Consequently, the Ace sees almost all the action while the others very limited, only those rare time when I actually plan to go out detecting. AT Pro sees alot of action but only in the water, have never used it on land.

Anyhow, we both know what this setup goes for new, upwards of $1,600.
Asking $1,150 shipped, insured USPS USA. I accept paypal using gift option only or USPS money orders [or pickup, if you happen to live around Detroit metro area].

Don't need to hear that I am asking too much and you have seen them sell used cheaper, not in a rush to get rid of it, if it doesn't sell I'll either keep it or lower the price, or take my chances on ebay.

Price drop $1,100

Drop $1,050, will be withdrawing sale soon

Bump, still avilable

Sold

That's a great machine. I have the one with the smaller headphones. Smaller coil. I have found more this year than any year since forever. Glad you were able to sell it. Unfortunately I already have one.

I've noticed some of your finds.

Ended up getting $975 cash for it, I predict I'll have another Deus one within a year. Really, I was worried since I didn't use it and charge it much, the batteries would go bad.
My Racer 2 and Ace 400 will take care of my detecting needs for a while [AT pro too, used only in water].

Coming minelab machine sounds interesting too, I need a backup for the water under $1K.
The guy I sold it to was blown away how light it was and that it works even without a remote, he turned off the remote and said, hey why are the headphones still beeping ?
I told him the remote isn't even needed to operate the machine, technically its just a useful [and expensive] accessory.

Hopefully he will put the time in that I wasn't able to, sounds pretty enthused, got a good deal and he did alot of research.
Also threw in the Andy Sabach book.
When I first showed it to him [I like messing with people], I said damn, one thing I hate about this thing is I wish they would have made them stem longer, you have to hunch over to detect [I had the easily adjustable stem fully retracted], and I proceeded to demonstrate by hunching over and swinging it like a dyslexic cross eyed midget.
His sour look said it all, this was a deal breaker for him - Then i said I'm just messin with ya, thats another thing thats sweet about this detector, stem adjusts super easy, especially with no coil wire to worry about.
I showed him and he said phew, I was ready to walk away !

I would have bought it if I didn't already have one. I think the best approach is to set it on one of it's "idiot" modes. Me being the chief idiot. I DO NOT tweak any of the settings. I have been killing it with the machine.

I was able to dry test the new Minelab. Check out my other post for a quick review. The Deus does have some advantages over it.
