The the 50 is a great machine for what you intend to use it for. Its a fantastic coin machine as you can notch in and out practically any target and even in all metal it will still use tones for ID. Occasional relic hunting is fine with this machine. If you were primarily a relic hunter and busting brush all the time I would recommend something else. But, for what you describe, where you're going to be covering a lot of ground it has a great combination of lightness, depth, and user friendly controls. I have no association with Minelab whatsoever, just clicked with this line of their machines. I've had 3 of the F Series Fishers and I won't buy another, but I rather not get into that here as they work for other people, just weren't my cup of tea, as it were.
