xt 50 and F5

I want to try a TID machine. Can any of you minelab users give me a reason to choose a xt50 over a F5. Both machine are used and about the same price with stock coils.. I'm currently using a tesoro Vaq. and G. umax. Thanks Tom

I've never used an F5, but the X-terra 50 is a great machine. However, for recommendations it really does help to know what you're going to use it for.

Parks, old homes, salt beaches, coins and jewelry 70% of the time. Plantation relics the rest of the time. Texas Gulf Coast, mild soil.

The the 50 is a great machine for what you intend to use it for. Its a fantastic coin machine as you can notch in and out practically any target and even in all metal it will still use tones for ID. Occasional relic hunting is fine with this machine. If you were primarily a relic hunter and busting brush all the time I would recommend something else. But, for what you describe, where you're going to be covering a lot of ground it has a great combination of lightness, depth, and user friendly controls. I have no association with Minelab whatsoever, just clicked with this line of their machines. I've had 3 of the F Series Fishers and I won't buy another, but I rather not get into that here as they work for other people, just weren't my cup of tea, as it were.
