It looks interesting, I find so many rocks that look like they were ancient tools and etc, I never know for sure and haven't had much luck when I post them on here. I couldn't resist a little humor though...

Cool looking rock! I would have snagged it too...

It's cracks intrigue me- perhaps heated in a fire pit? My thoughts are if it were hewn from rock into a tool that there would be visible signs of shaping such as jagged edges. Finding it in the woods makes me think that it probably hasn't eroded too much so any signs would remain. I drive bias for a living so whatta I know? Lol

Are there any dinosaur fossils in your area? Maybe its a Gastrolith (dinosaur gizzard stone).
