Not a great start for the week. My early (5:45 AM) Monday morning hunt yielded me a wet miserable little pigeon. He was cold to the touch and I figured he would expire soon. But got him home and the hairdryer on low had him all dried out and actually not bad looking. It's flying well and aggressive to me (hates my guts). Will fatten him up until Monday morning again and this one WILL be released.
The good deed was on Wednesday, found the car keys of a young worried girl. Found them in the first scoop. It was so easy I just had to have some fun with her having to ID the key: "Well, it's a key, and, and it's silver"
A few minutes later she ran back with a five in her hands. Of course I didn't take it. I told her to think GOOD thoughts the next time she saw one of us detecting.
Two minutes later I get an earring (my son says it's an "F" and signifies something but he's not sure what ... in my day an "F" signified an "F"). It had the rear clasp attached and I tell myself ...hmmm might just be another one. YEP, 3 feet another one but without the clasp. I searched for the clasp but it wasn't close by.
Ten minutes later out pops a silvery ring with a flame design. Unfortunately no markings but it's MINE.
Another five minutes and I got the double star earring. Only one and it's costume but really FUN to find.
Last of the day was a plastic peace sign earring I eyeballed.
The next day I picked up a ring
... 925 ... but with 23 diamonds. DON'T tell me they're not real! I figure such an elaborate arrangement just has to be REAL! besides the main diamond (can see some bubble inclusions with a loupe ..good sign right?) there are 6 small rounds plus 3 rectangular emerald cut and 2 small rounds (ring edge) on each side.

UPDATE 10 Aug 2008: Thanks to Captn SE (Dan) he verified that ALL these gorgeous looking Diamonds were in fact NOT! I'm still holding out for a 2nd opinion.
