Two questions: is that an eraser at the top or a magnet?
Is the tip bored to allow lead to pass through?

I didn’t want to rub it or try it out but it appears to be a dirty eraser , I think

Yes the tip comes off and it is lead, so it’s a pencil

Only thing engraved is it’s says lead 2 1/4
