I almost didn't post this, in another post today, i shared that i had an AT GOLD on the way, ordered it yesterday. we also went to town, (big thing in the sticks) and while there, bumped into the local newspaper guy who does the pics as well as a large chunk of the stories. It is a small town, so the long time locals know pretty much everyone if they have lived here very long. The news guy worked our special Olympics recently and while taking pictures of our kids, asked if I had been doing anything exciting lately. My wife over heard and asked if I had told him about the class ring return, he answered no so I just said that I had found one and returned it. The reporter in him wanted to know more but I told him that if he wanted more info, he would have to get it from my wife. anyways to make a long story a lot shorter, she had sent him pics and told him about the return but he wanted to know more about metal detecting itself as well. So I agreed to be interviewed and yesterday afternoon we met and answered his questions as best as I could, it is easy to talk about something that you enjoy. I am not crazy about being in our small paper, my friends are more excited, especially my wife and kids. hopefully the article will help in getting permission to dig locally more so for our detectors, who knows.
