Yesterday's Find

Anyone ever heard of this before?

If you want more pics, my eBay listing is here: 1944 Landes Dairies Lansdale PA Quart Milk Bottle RARE | eBay

Landes Dairies in Lansdale, PA

I found it yesterday in a gulley-side surface dump. The only thing Google could tell me about it was that Landes Dairy was owned & operated by John T. Landes, Jr. from 1943-1947, but I'm fairly certain the dairy has been around longer than that.

Surf? You're a good fount of info for this. Any idea?

A lot of small family run dairies back then.

My dad used to collect these things... he grew up on a farm, I remember him saying they even had their own bottling at one time.
I still have a few from his collection hanging around here, and a old milk cooler on the front porch.

Nice find.

How would the bottling work? Glassmaker ships you blank bottles and you apply labels? Or did your dad's family mold & blow their own?

could you snap a picture of the dump??
